The Effects Of Acupuncturing Lingtai And Shendao Points On Heart Rate Variability In Patients With Essential Hypertension

Objective:To confirm the relatively specific effects of Lingtai and Shendao on HRV with the5min Frequency domain indexes of LF,HF and LF/HF in Patients with Essential Hypertension,which will give enlightments to choose the well-targeted acupuncture point in the clinical work.Methods:38cases of patients with EH were randomly divided into two groups.23patients of the treatment group were acupunctured in Lingtai and Shendao,and15patients of the control group in the bilateral Xuanzhong.Then the data of LF,HF,LF/HF before and after the acupuncture therapy were recorded and statistically analyzed.Results:It was showed by t-test that, there was no statistical significance of the above indexes between the two groups before treatment. After the treatment, very significant differences of LF,LF/HF existed in contrast to the pre-treatment data in the treatment group, and there were also significant differences of LF,LF/HF between the two groups.But no significant change of HF was shown.Conclusion:Acupuncturing Lingtai and Shendao can reduce LF、LF/HF index of HRV in patients with EH, which means that maybe the two points have the effects of lowering sympathetic nerve activity and adjusting autonomic nerves balance.
