Purpose:Observe and compare the differences of clinical affect between Thermosensitive points and Ashi points moxibustion treatment of knee osteoarthritis to increase the clinical efficacy of thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Manners:40knee osteoarthritis patients were selected and randomly divided into two groups by number randomized control:The subject group of20patients treated with thermosensitive points moxibustion therapy; and the contrast group of20patients treated with Ashi points moxibustion therapy. Observing and comparing the score of two groups before and after the treatments by symptoms and pain VAS score in order to evaluate the clinical efficacy.Fact:The research shows that Clinical total effective rate of the treatments for knee osteoarthritis, thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment (85%) is superior to Ashi points moxibustion treatment group (50%) as result. After clinical treatment, both two groups have great progress shown in KOA symptoms scale score (P=0.0031<0.05); nevertheless, the symptom improvement of thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment group has a great progress than Ashi points moxibustion treatment group has (P=0.000<0.01). In addition, observing the treatment effects on three months later, shows that thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment group had a long term symptom improvement and had no side effect as well(P>0.05); however, Ashi points moxibustion treatment group wasn’t improved as much as thermosensitive group, and recurrenced from time to time after treatment (P=0.00<0.05). Evaluation of the pain visual analog scale scores (VAS) of two groups expresses that both two groups have achieved the effect of treatment of easing the patients’knee suffering (P=<0.01) though, thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment still has the advantage of treatment effect (P=0.000<0.01). Following up the3-month observing, thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment group has maintained stable treatment effect(P=>0.05) while Ashi points moxibustion treatment group has recurrenced in different degree frequently (P=<0.05)Effect:Both thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment group and Ashi points moxibustion treatment group have achieved the effect of treatment of easing or reducing the knee suffering of KOA patients, however, in comparison of KOA symptoms scale score and pain visual analog scale scores (VAS) confirmed that thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment for knee osteoarthritis is superior to Ashi points moxibustion treatment therapy; moreover, unlike to Ashi points moxibustion treatment that has recurrenced in different degree frequently after therapy, thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment has stable long term treatment effect.
