Backgroundpruritus is one of the common complications in people with Hemodialy. It bring a large disease burden in terms of quality of life, and health care resources. Chinese medicine is widely used as an effective intervention for Hemodialysis pruritus in China. However, their efficacy lack of scientific evidence and need further systematic assessment to gain baseline data and scientific evidence. The work mention above can also provide the basis for further clinical validation studies. After the patients of uremia accept the therapy of maintenance hemodialysis(MHD), their syndrome of TCM will much changed. Recently, it is very few that the research of the syndrome of TCM, therefore, this research will analyses the syndrome of TCM and Expect to affording theory base for the treatment for TCM syndrome differentiation.ObjectiveThe purpose of this clinical trial was to observe the efficacy and safety of a kind of Chinese medicine for pruritus in hemodialysis patients and to affording theory base for the treatment for TCM syndrome differentiation.MethodsWe searched6electronic databases from their inception to October2011. All RCT and CCT of Chinese medicine for pruritus in hemodialysis patients with ESRD were included. Risk of bias of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane criteria.100cases of MHD Patients were observed, analyses the clinic syndrome of TCM, Find the relationship of the syndrome of TCM.ConclusionAll of the included trials reported beneficial effects of Chinese medicine. However, most of the studies showed high risk of bias, which leaves their reports unconvincing. The current evidence is insufficient to show that Chinese medicine is an effective treatment for pruritus in hemodialysis patients because of suboptimal quality and lack of methodological rigor of included studies. Future trials should overcome the limitations of the currently available evidence. In the study, the most common syndrome is syndrome of yin deficiency of liver and kidney and syndrome of yang deficiency of spleen and kidney, Up to65%. secondly is the syndrome of deficiency of both qi and yin and syndrome of deficiency of both yin and yang, each14%,16%. Spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome is rare.
