Objective: To systematically revivw the clinical efficacy of Endobutton for patients with distal tibiofibular syndesmosis injurie providing evidence for the Orthopaedic doctor. Methods: Databases including Pubmed,Science Direct,Web of Science, CNKI,VIP,CBM and WanFang Databases were electronically searched from bulding databases to November 2015 to collec randomized control trials and cohort studies about the treatment of distal tibiofibular syndesmosis injurie with Endobutton. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies.then,meta-analysis was performed using Reviw Manager 5.3 software. Results: A total of 2 RCTs and 5 cohort studies involving 318 participants were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that:compared with the control group, the incidence of postoperative complications was decreased(RR=0.17,95%CI 0.08 to 0.35,P<0.00001),reoperation rate is significantly lower(RR=0.09,95%CI 0.03 to 0.24, P<0.00001),fully weight bearing time of postoperative(MD=-1.15,95%CI-1.78 to-0.52, P=0.0003) were significantly shorter in the Endobutton group,American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society scores was higher(MD=2.51, 95%CI 0.16 to 4.86, P<0.05). However,no significant differences were found in TFC between two groups. Conclusion: Compared with the control group, the Endobutton could decreased the incidence of postoperative complications and reoperation rate, fully weight bearing time of postoperative were significantly shorter,American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society scores was higher. However, there were no significant differences in TFC between two groups.Duo to the limited quantity and quality of included studies, the above conclusion needs to be further verified by more high quality studies.
