Object ivesTo study the clinical efficacy of treating the pain caused by cervical spondylosis with acupuncture at"Nei-Guan(P6)"and "Hou-xi (S13)" Respecticely. And to find out the regulation of treating the pain of cervical spondylosis with "Nei-Guan (P6)" acupoint.Methodsseventy cases with neck pain caused by cervical spondylosis were recruited from the acupuncture out-patient of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of TCM. By using simple random method, participants are distributed into the neiguan group and houxi group, with35cases in each group. In the neiguan group, Nei-Guan(P6) are selected. Compared to the neiguan group, the houxi group select Hou-xi(S13). Each group received six times’treatment in two weeks, three times per week. Patients will evaluated by NPQ and VAS after the treatment. Using the SPSS13.0for Statistics, Using T test for the statistical analysis to compare the therapeutic differences before and after the treatment, T test for the statistical analysis to compare the difference between groups. At the same time, in order to compare the pain points difference between acupuncture Nei-Guan(P6) and Hou-xi (S13), at the first time’s acupuncting, volunteers will evaluated the differences of pain by Visual Analogue Score (VAS) between the two groups. Using T test to compare the difference between groups. Results1. Before treatment, there was no statistical disctepancy between the two group in gender, age, disease duration, education level, distribution of traditional Chinese medical science, the tmie of the headdown position, NPQ and VAS score before the treatment(P>0.05).2. After treatment course, the total effective rates of each groups were73.53%,80.65%. By rank-sum test, the overall effects of two groups have no significance(P>0.05). The markedly effective rates of two groups were14.71%and16.13%, by Chi—square test, the two groups have no significance(P>0.05).3. After treatment course, NPQ scores and VAS scores both declined significantly in the2graoups(P<0,05), means these2groups of treatment are all effective for neck pain due to cervical spondylosis.4. After treatment course, NPQ scores and VAS scores between the neiguan group and the houxi group have no significance(P>0.05), the therapeutic effect of the neiguan group and the houxi group are the same.5. In comparing the acupuncture pain between NeiGuan(P6)and Houxi (S13), the VAS pain score of neiguan Group is lower than houxi group, the difference has significance(P<0.05).6. No side effect and serious adverse reaction happened in the research. but it’s more common that the tingling feeling happens when pricking Nei-Guan(P6).ConclusionPuncturing Nei-Guan(P6) and Hou-xi(S13) acupoint can both improve the clinical symptoms of the patients with neck pain caused by cervical spondylosis, they both have better efficacy and safety. That means Neiguan Acupoint in treatment of cervical pain has a certain practicality. and when judging from the implementation of clinical treatment, the pain reaction of puncturing Neiguan is much more lightly than when puncturing Houxi, which perhaps will be more acceptable by the patients and worthly of the clincal promotion and applications.
