In recent years, with the rapid development of national economy, electric power demand gap increase, while the traditional thermal power plant due to the coal resource constraints, has a serious impact on productivity. Because of the generator itself restrict, power in the production, transportation and use of the process is not stored, and power load demand can vary from minute to minute, in general, a day in the daytime and late at night for electricity demand peaks, and midnight for electricity demand trough. For this generator to power peak to full hair, while in the troughs to depress output, even temporarily closed, plus some unit suddenly jump load, in order to solve a series of problems, must have to reserve power system.Pumped storage power station peak, trough is to solve the contradiction between supply and demand generation, is indirect electric energy storage in a way, it is in the power load trough as electricity using units, will power surplus electric water can be pumped from the reservoir under the supremacy of the reservoir, at the peak of power demand as the electrical energy the power unit, the water from the reservoir into the lower reservoir generation. So pumped storage has a peak, valley filling effect, in addition, also has FM, phase modulation, emergency, black start function.Firstly, by introducing the material intensive management background and status, it can r-eflect the important role of management in the project life-cycle man-agement of materials in-tensive; Secondly, from three aspects, the material program management, purchasing manage-ement and materials quality management, introduced the main content of the material intensific ation in the full life-cycle management; Thirdly, give a research on current status of China’ s management of pumped storage power station supplies, and then the paper also pointed out that the lack of current materials management and the direction of building material inte-nsive; Fourthly, the paper builds a material intensive management programs with the full life cycle according to the current lack of pumped storage power station, it is designed from three aspects of the material program management, bidding management and supervision mana-gement; Finally, it introduces some safeguard measures, which will ensure the rational us-e of resources and the smooth implementation of the intensive program.
