With the rapid development of the national economy, the electricity demand ofenterprises and residential is also growing, power system has high requirements for reliabilityand availability of power station. Especially for the peak frequency modulation of pumpedstorage units, the power system submits higher requirements. Therefore, the power enterprisesmust strive to improve the management level of equipment. The application of EAM systemhas been got the industry’s recognition regarding improving management level of theequipment.This article first analyzes the development trend of the electrical equipment management,aiming at the equipment management status of the Guangzhou Pumped Storage Power Station,analyze the full life cycle function demand of the equipment management. Combined with thefunctional analysis of the EAM, researching the application of the EAM system which basedon the Life-cycle management in the Guangzhou Pumped Storage Power Station. Around theconstruction of the EAM, analyze electrical equipment life cycle management as the core ofthe EAM structure, combined with the actual production, focusing on analysis of theequipment tree, the design and application of fault analysis module, business process andworkflow analysis and transformation.The article finally summarizes the experience of the research, the application of thesystem played a positive role in the production of the Guangzhou Pumped Storage PowerPlant, greatly improved the level of equipment management.
