With the rapid development of economy and progress of society, residential industry hasbecome one of the industries which are extremely closing to nationals’ daily life. Thenationals nowadays pay more and more attention on the high quality residential circumstance.Moreover, residential industry has become a new growth point to boost the nationalconsumption and promote the development of national economy. After making acomprehensive survey of the current situation in residential construction and doing theresearch on residential characteristics, we realize that there are still exiting a large number ofproblems for current residential industry such as poor living quality, low-level completion ofdetail designing, weirdly disjointed with architecture and interior design, environmentpollution, wasting of resources and engendered construction.According to all exited problems having been stated above, the article proposes theconcept of The Integrated design of Residential Architecture and Interior which is based onthe domestic and foreign research and supported by actual project. The concept is aimed atsolving the design problems in current residential industry. The core ideology is that theresidential design should be able to have an integral design concept. Architecture design andresidential interior design should be intergrowth in whole process of designing; both of themshould have a co-evolutionary relationship that exists between the two interrelated, interactionand common development. Residential design should consider whether it would be beneficialto improve the residential quality, to advance residential industrialization and to express thegreen ecological sustainable development as the criterion. To begin with, the articlesummarizes and reviews the related theory in domestic and foreign residential industry andthe development of residential industry. It analyzes the influencing factors for promoting theintegral design of architecture and residential interior in domestic. Furthermore, the articledevelops a new suitable design pattern, The Integrated design of Residential Architecture andInterior, for domestic residential industry which is on the basis of doing the research ondesigning method and achievements of existing residences. It obtains the design pattern inthree aspects which are the integration of design, integration of construction management andintegration of training system after inquiring into the integral design pattern. On the basis of the integral design of architecture and residential interior, the article separately expoundsdifferent designing strategies. It also incorporates with two actual projects to confirm thesignificance of the integral design in pros and cons.
