The highway electromechanical system is an important component of the highwayintelligent transportation system. The highway electromechanical system includes monitoringsystem (toll stations and road monitoring), toll collection system and communication system.In this thesis, the research and implementation of highway electromechanical system for Xi’anto Changwu highway was the research object. Based on in-depth analysis of the principle andkey technology for highway electromechanical system, with the combination of the Xi-Changhighway electromechanical system’s actual needs, we designed and realized the Xi-Changhighway electromechanical system.Firstly, we analyse the research status of highway electromechanical system from theview of monitoring system, toll collection system and communication system. Secondly, wediscuss working principle and key technology of the monitoring system, toll collection systemand communication system. We also give a detailed analysis of the function, characteristics,composition and key technology for the monitoring system, toll collection system andcommunication system.Finally, combined with the actual needs of Xi-Chang highway, from the view of softwareand hardware components, main equipment technical index and construction scheme for themonitoring system, toll collection system and communication system, we give a detaileddesign for the Xi-Chang highway electromechanical system. For the monitoring system wegive the detailed design of computer network subsystem, closed-circuit television subsystem,display subsystem, information collection subsystem, information issue subsystem. For thetoll colletion system we give the detailed design of toll collection computer subsystem, weighttoll collection subsystem, intercom subsystem, emergency alarm subsystem. For thecommunication system we give the detailed design of optical fiber digital transmissionsubsystem, voice service subsystem, data/image transmission channel.The detailed design scheme was applied and verified in Shaanxi Xi-Chang highwaycenter relocation works. Application and validation showed that the detailed design schemecan meet the actual needs of Xi-Chang highway electromechanical system. Meanwhile, thedetailed design scheme provide technical support for ensuring the smooth construction and good operation of highway electromechanical system.
