Research On Computer Monitoring System For Hydropower Station Based On NI LabVIEW

Our country is rich in water resources, and many small hydropower stations are built indifferent areas. The designs of small hydropower station computer monitoring system are diverse.Some are adopted by configuration software, some are adopted by high level programminglanguage. The programming of the configuration software is relatively simple, but the cost ishigher. The programming workload of high level programming language is relatively large. Thecomputer monitoring system based on LabVIEW is put forward in this paper, which is used tosolve the problem of high cost and long program development cycle.The development status, composition, pattern, structure, hierarchical and distributed control,main performance indicators of the hydropower station computer monitoring system both inChina and other countries are analyzed in this paper. The hardware configurations of thehydropower station computer monitoring system, the operating characteristics of the smallhydropower stations, network architectures and programming methods are researched.The hardware topology of the hydropower station computer monitoring system is designedin this paper and its hardware is configured. LabVIEW as a graphical programming software isadopted by monitoring system. Login interface, main wiring diagram, local control unit, publiclocal control unit, protection module, alarming, alarm center, statements and curve are designed.GE PLC is adopted in local control unit, which is used to acquire data and control. OPCtechnology basis, OPC technology specifications, OPC objects and OPC data access methods areresearched. OPC interface is designed, data communication between PC monitoring software andPLC is achieved.Monitoring system’s protection module has been tested, data communicate is achieved bythe monitoring system based on LabVIEW. LabVIEW interface is friendly, easily to debug,modify and operate.
