Landscape construction in Guangzhou is outstanding in China, and landscape plants isalso of the most abundant one of Chinese cities. But in Guangzhou, the research of the plantlandscaping stay for a wide range, quantitative research is still in the preliminary stage, andthe guidance of the practical application in plant landscaping is weak. Trees comparedto shrubs and grasses, live longer, and its landscaping is relatively more stable, coupledwith hot weather in Lingnan, shade requirements particularly strong, the tree is the firstchoice of plant landscaping. This thesis, select the outstanding cases which has a good effecton plant landscaping to measure and analyze. The main parks selected for the research arePeople’s Park, Liuhua Lake Park, Xiaogang Park, Guangzhou Martyrs’ Cemetery, Pearl RiverPark, South China Botanical Garden. The main universities selected for the research arethe Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou Academy ofFine Arts, South China Agricultural University. In these parks and universities, select thecases of plant landscaping which have a stable, mature and healthy development ofthe state of landscape plants to research. Plant landscaping is a big subject, excellent plantlandscaping in Guangzhou is very rich, this thesis mainly select tree landscaping instancesfor a detailed study. The main content of this study are as follows:1. Access to plant landscaping information, summed up the case studies on plant landscaping.2. Go for field trips in the major parks and college of Guangzhou, and select the good treelandscaping for detailed study of the measured and photographed. And take a detailed recordof the tree height, diameter at breast height, crown diameter, canopy density, Croppingpatterns, planting distance and so on.3. Classify the shape of tree and the space of the tree landscaping, then take a comparativestudy of the same type of tree, and summarize the regular pattern of the tree landscaping.4. According to the classification of the different shape of trees, comparing different effects tocreate a landscape space on the similarities and differences, summarize the mainpoints of the tree landscaping and guide the plant landscaping design after.
