Highway engineering projects is carried out in complex natural and social environment. Then often show the following characteristics such as long construction period, more investment, highly technical demanding, complicated internal structure, and extensively external contacts and so on. Therefore, there are many uncertain factors that cannot predict in the process of implementation which often affected the smooth implementation of project. There are many risks existing in highway projects. If we treat with these risks improperly, the owners of highway engineering and construction enterprises will suffer huge loss. Accordingly, it is risk that decided a highway project is successful or not. So it is rather necessary to research on risk management about highway project in order to avoid or reduce losses by the owners of highway engineering and construction enterprises.Taking risk of highway project management as study object, this paper researches on the whole cycle of risk management in highway construction project, especially in construction phase. It mainly includes the analysis of risk factor, risk assessment, risk models, and risk prevention measures and so on. Combined with Chongqing Yunyang Nanbin highway construction work, this paper establishes the construction risk model by risk assessment methods and analyzes the risk model qualitatively by expert survey and evaluation method. Then it gives a mathematical calculation according to the feedback data from experts and it educes the risk data of Chongqing Yunyang Nanbin highway construction. After that, it presents the risk prevention and mitigation measures according to calculation results. Finally, this paper elicits the conclusion and expectation of the risk management in highway construction.
