A Research On Xingtai City Qiaodong District’s Spatial Structure

Urban spatial structure is the reflection of interaction of a series of social and economic activities in the geographic area in city, it is the material manifestation of the urban layout and form in space. Factors of various activities in the development of urban are inextricably linked with the formation urban spatial structure, such as demographic, economic, and cultural factors have varying degrees of impact of urban spatial structure changes. At the same time, urban spatial structure would be counterproductive in the city’s social, economic and cultural development. There are few studies on interior spatial structure of small and medium-sized cities. Most of previous studies are focus on the aspect of urban structure, such as ecological environment, industrial structure, population mobility and their influence on urban spatial structure. These researches seem single and one-sidedness. Under this circumstance, making a deep research on influencing factors of urban spatial structure from the perspective of urban development may take a great significant for urban spatial structural optimization, meanwhile, some practical implications will be given.This article makes research and analysis on the spatial structure of the Qiaodong District of Xingtai city from the population, transportation, industrial structure and other aspects. It provides some scientific basis for the development of the future development plan of Qiaodong district. The main body of this article is divided into four parts, In the first part, it proposes the background and the basis of this research, and makes summary on the theory of urban spatial structure from home and abroad. In the second part, it introduces the profile and characteristics of spatial structure development of Xingtai City and Qiaodong district. In the third part, it analyzes the effect factors of urban spatial structure and the power of its future urban development of Qiaodong district. In the fourth part, it analyzes the problems of urban spatial structure in Qiaodong district. It is summarized to problems of there is no historical cultural and famous brand of commercial area which is caused by the narrow and old space and restrict its urban development. In the fifth part, it presents some suggestions. In connection with the status of Qiaodong district, it proposes to make the strategy of urban spatial structure of "the three districts and one loop".
