Study Of The Humanities Zoning And The Types Of The Mountain Dwellings Of The Northern Henan Province

This thesis is the12th Five Years Key Programs for Science and Technology Development of the Ministry of Science and Technology.This thesis starts from the analysis of human geography and uses field reconnaissance as evidence, it systematically cardings the zoning, types of distribution of the characteristics and the constructive characteristics of the mountain dwellings of the Northern Henan Province.This thesis starts form the angel of muti-disciplinary perspective, including vernacular architecture and human geography and so on. Meanwhile, combining with the characteristics of the dwellings in different regions, the thesis studies and extracts the characteristics of the dwellings in different regions, including the layout of the constructions, the building, the significant details of material decorations, the distribution of the constructions, and so on. By deeply thinking, this thesis tries to discuss the regional characteristics and the morphology characterization of the mountain dwellings of the Northern Henan Province.This thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter focuses on the background, the purpose, the significance and the approaches of the research. The second chapter reviews the synthetical zoning of the mountain dwellings of the Northern Henan Province. This is discoursed from many aspects, including environment, history, constructions and so on. By investigating and analyzing the types of the mountain dwellings of the Northern Henan Province, and by comparing with the dwellings in Shanxi, which is adjacent to Henan, the three areas of the types and the zoning of the mountain dwellings of the Northern Henan province are finalized.1. This ares is represented by the dwellings in Jiyuan Country, where is rich in Raw-soil. In this area, the wall is built by stamping Raw-soil between board frames. The roof is hanging Hill-style tile roof.2. This area is represented by the dwellings in Xiuwu Country, Jiaozuo City. In this area, the dwellings always have shallow-vaulted roof and adobe wall or stone wall.3. This area is represented by the dwellings which is built by slate (slate wall and slate roof) in Linzhou City. Taking the Xiuwu Country, Jiaozuo City as the boundary, the Northern Henan Province is divided into two areas. North of the boundary, the dwellings always use brick as the main materials for building, but south of the boundary, they always use soil. We must follow the principal of using local materials. Besides those three areas, there are also two sub-types, one takes Boai County, Jiaozuo City as the center, using brick walls and hard mountain tile roofs, the other takes Hebi Country as the center, using slate walls and flat roofs. The third chapter focuses on the basic type and the distribution of the mountain dwellings of the Northern Henan Province. The forth chapter expounds the spatial shape of the mountain dwellings. The fifth chapter thinks about the development and the evolution of the dwellings of the Northern Henan Province. The sixth chapter is conclusion.
