The industrial revolution brought about the destruction of the environment and resources, which is becoming increasingly serious. In the social developmental context of promoting sustainable development, ecological civilization and the full life cycle management, there are many defects in the traditional planning model design, the lack of digital techniques to quantify planningsystem, scientific judgment as well as information management, gradually lagged behind the pace of the information age.The application of BIM in construction projects has been hot.By controlling digital, information-oriented database technology, BIM provides a systematic pattern, science, digital basis for decision making and efficient collaborative work platform for green projects and the construction. In the present situation, it’s efficient technological means to achieve sustainable development, green projects and life cycle management. In this paper, based on the application of BIM in the construction industry combined with planning their own needs and characteristics, BIM was used in the scenic area planning. The entry point and focus is the Area Planning range of scientific decision-making practice, to explore its application methods and prospects for development.Level of current Scenic Sites Planning is low. The planning content is ambiguity and there is a serious lack of scientific evaluation system in the scenic resource evaluation.Based on digital simulation with similar planning models and methods at home and abroad, the scientific decision-making factors information model have been improved. Achieving digital model which promote the progress of the project planning, ultimately BIM is achieving the whole life cycle of the Scenic Area management, low carbon, green projects and efficient planning.
