This study was carried out in Hui River National Nature Reserve of Hulun Buir City.28Grasslandresources sample plots were researched from the north to the south base on the researchs for several years, thepresent distribution of vegetation, distribution of special area and protection and utilization form. speciescomposition characteristics and species diversity index was calculated, the status of resources was analyzed, water protential of8typical plants were measured, and the relationship between the species diversity indexand the water protential were discussed, the results were as follows:At the protected areas level,3α diversity index between sample plots show the same distribution patternin zonal.α diversity index in zonal was divided3parts by grazing water points and Planted Sand Regionsbecause the influence of wide range climatic conditions and local microclimate.According to the basis of property of the grass, The results of cluster analysis about28sample plotsshows that the interference from human activities and the local climate and the special geographicalenvironment were the primary factor affecting community productivity, large-scale climatic conditions was thesecond factor. In the pinus sylvestris forests, α diversity index and β diversity index were researched(Under the tree,Out of the forest, Edge of the forest, Woodland). They show the same trend with the level of the protected areas.Number of species can not determine the α diversity index by itself only. The succession rate between thecommunity contrast to Similarity coefficient within the community.Analysis found that different typical plants have the same water potential variation. Partial correlationanalysis shows there’s no inevitable connection between plant roots, leaves and soil’s water potential. Theplant’s water holding capacity service on the use form of water, the different of the water use form increasesthe species, reduces the competition, and promotes community stabilization.
