The traditional Science Education as a generic term, including biology, physics,chemistry and other physical science education, which is the opposite of social science andthe humanities. But with the rapid development of science and technology, at the middle ofthe20th century, the world Science Education reform movement is going by the way ofscience curriculum reform, and begins to break the traditional subject boundariescontinuously, and is more and more closely contacted with social, cultural, political,economic and other fields. After the Second World War, the world science curriculum reformexperiences three waves: the first reform from19th50s to60s, the second reform from70s to80s, the third reform after80s. The representative course of the first reform wave is thebranch of courses. The second wave of reform is comprehensive science curriculum. With thehelp of internal contradictions, the third course reform absorbs theory researches of ScienceEducation and related disciplines, and integrates modern characteristics of science curriculum,showing more vitality.As a new direction of international science curriculum reform, HPS education introducesthe research findings of history of science, philosophy of science and the sociology of scienceinto Science Education. HPS appears as a whole concept in the science education, becauseevery compositing part has close ties with each other. Scientific philosopher Lakatos oncesaid: the history of science without the philosophy of science is blind, and scientificphilosophy without the history of science is empty. In the1960s, the historicism philosophybegins to rise and takes Kuhn as a representative, and after that the history of science andphilosophy of science begin to bond. While science teaching, the history of science and thephilosophy of science are also gradually melting together. The reason that people payattention to science, technology and social relationships, and concerns on scientific cultureand human culture, on the one hand, is the result of the development of science andtechnology, on the other hand, is the inevitable science curriculum reform.The reform of HPS education science curriculum brings a series of changes such asscience curriculum concept, the relations between the subject and the object, course Synthesizing way, the relations between the public education and the elite education, as wellas teachers’ role and so on. Both the curriculum idea and the specific shape of course havesubstantial breakthroughs. China also has experienced the reform of HPS education sciencecurriculum, but the reform of HPS education science curriculum in China still have manyproblems, The HPS education science curriculum systems in primary, secondary and highereducation need to re-construct. Our country should adopt more advantages from western HPSeducation science curriculum reform, combining with the specific situation of the country,and push the HPS education science curriculum reform to a new level.
