With the deepening of China's electric power system, the separation of transmission and distribution becomes a necessity. In order to stand in a competitive market after the separation, China's domestic power companies are implementing performance management in different degrees. But in the current performance management, there exists loss of performance management objectives widespreadly, the misunderstanding that appraisal is performance management, lack of basic job analysis, unreasonable set of performance evaluation and performance evaluation results applied only to pay distribution and other issues; these are affecting the organization's overall performance improvement and corporate strategic objectives achievement.This paper is based on LC Power Company marketing system for the study, through the means of staff interviews, documentation and so on to understand the current status comprehensively of the LC's performance management. Based on lots of performance management literature, designed the "performance management questionnaire" to investigate overall state of LC's performance management, organizational structure, performance planning, performance evaluation setting, communication and performance feedback, the use of performance evaluation and results and other aspects. After the in-depth analysis of survey results, it finds out the main problems.Based on the analysis of the problems, it optimizes the design for the LC's performance management system. The process of the design is in turn in performance management performance plan, implementation and performance counseling, performance evaluation, performance feedback and improvement, the use of performance evaluation results, according to LC's business characteristics, orienting LC's strategy and pointing at the key marketing system of marketing department.Among them, the performance evaluation index system optimization is used in Balanced Scorecard with key performance indicators to break down LC's strategic objectives, making it to every department and staff, and designing a performance evaluation criteria and developing a performance evaluation rules. Implementation and optimization of performance counseling is to strengthen the staff performance counseling role of two-way communication between managers and employees in the implementation process. Optimization of performance feedback is to highlight the main performance feedback interview, and to develop performance improvement plans to achieve performance improvement. The use of performance evaluation and results is mainly to optimize the ways and means of performance evaluation; through the multi-disciplinary use of performance evaluation results to incentive employees positively to promote the production of high-performance behavior. Finally, according to LC's actual situation, it establishes a security system for successful implementation of the performance management system.This essay is based on LC's actual situation to optimize the performance management system, and it is a guid to the LC's overall performance management. Because the management of power supply enterprises is vertical and they have the similar management models, so the paper has a certain reference in building and improving performance management system for the other regional power companies.
