Case Study On Cost Management For Curtain Wall Project A Of Hongtai Co.,

Curtain wall industry is an emerging industry in China, which is developing rapidly. With the fast development of economy in China, the growth rate of curtain wall industry has been increasing by more than 20% annually, since its emergency in China in 1980s. Curtain wall industry is undertaking a rapid development and the number of employees in this field is increasing greatly, which promotes the fast development of construction industry in China.The management for construction project costs is the core job for the construction enterprises to gain benefits and to maintain the smooth running of the enterprises. Therefore, how to guarantee the management for the construction projects is quite significant for the enterprises in the following aspects:1) to gain more economic benefits;2) to promote the management level of the enterprisies; 3)to increase the competitive level of the enterprises. Especially, when facing the intensively competitive situation in the field of construction, it is the key point for the enterprises to enhance the manament for project costs.Dalian Hongtai is a company, mainly producing the glass curtain wall. With the rapid development of glass curtain wall in China, Dalian Hongtai is facing more and more intensive competition. It is quite important to strengthen the management for projects cost, in the hope to build up capacity, seize the opportunity brought by the fast developemnt of curtain wall industry, and get surived in the competition, which is not only the requirement of lowering the project costs, but also the requirement of deepening the reform of manament system and increasing the coprehensive capacity.The project A is one of the largest projects undertaken by Dalian Hongtai in recent years, which is also a test project for the reform of cost management. With the great endeavor of all the employees, Dalian Hongtai completed this project in time with high quality and won the prize of the employing party. What is more, it successfully tested its measures of cost management via projects, which will be used in a larger scale. Based on the analysis on the measures of cost management taken in project A, this thesis summarized the measures and motheds taken for cost management and made practical proposals, in the hope to improve the working methods in the furture and to enhance the cost management level in the field of curtain wall industry.
