A Research Of Floating Population's Intentional Demands And Willingness For Social Insurance

Nowadays, the floating population's social insurance issues have always been the focus of academic research. However, up to now, the most research concerning floating population's present situation and the influencing factors on social insurance, the researches about the social insurance demands and willingness of the floating population are short of quantitative support, in addition, the existing research have rarely pay attention to the differentiation of the migrating intention of the floating population, and based on this starting point to discuss the influences of migrating intention to the floating population social insurance demands and willingness.This paper establishes an analytical framework about floating population's present situation and the influencing factors on social insurance, and according to floating population's demands and willingness of social insurance, then combined with a survey in Fu Zhou, at last,make a statistical description about floating population's social insurance demands among the social insurance for urban workers, the social insurance for rural residents and the social insurance which specially designed for them, then using single factor analysis and multiple Logistic regression to examine the factors which affect floating population's social insurance demands. The results show that: the floating population have strong requirement for social insurance, the type of origins, the education, the personal monthly income, the migrating intention and so on, significantly affected the demands for those three social insurance models of floating population. At the same time, they need the social insurance for urban workers and the social insurance for rural residents are much more desire compared with the social insurance which specially designed for floating population. In the last part of the paper, analyses of both the characteristics of the social insurance system in some major developed countries and practices and problems of social insurance policies in various cities of China are conducted. Based on such analysis, the paper proposes several suggestions to solve migrant social insurance problems. These include:improve floating population's active to join in social insurance, and make some suggestion about social insurance model which fit for floating population's actual demand.
