China Travel Service (CTS), the first travel service in Chinese History that marked the beginning of birth on the Chinese modern tourism. Chen Cuangfu was the founder of China Travel Service who had studied in America in early years, graduated from the Wharton School of Pennsylvania University. And, he founded Shanghai commercial savings bank when he came back to motherland in 1915. In 1923, Chen Guangfu established Shanghai Bank Travel Department that was the predecessor of China Travel Service. In June 1927, the Travel Department was independent form Shanghai Bank, and renamed China Travel Service which became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Bank. CTS was not only the first travel service in China, but also a solo large tourism enterprise group in the Republican Period. CTS business scope is broad, extends to the tourism industry six factors-food, shelter, traveling, shopping, entertainment, etc. It is in the sprit of social service, CTS made great contributions to the prosperity and development during 31 years. In this thesis, I have a lot of original materials, and use history and tourism research methods to discuss the management idea of Chen Guangfu. The research will make every effort for the development of the discipline of tourist historiography and provide some substantial achievements, and also it will be helpful for study of the history of Chinese enterprise management.The body of this study is divided three parts. The first part is mainly through time sequence to comb the development track of the China travel service. The second part is the major component and choices the most five representative aspects to draft the method of the unique tourism enterprise management about Chen Guangfu. Firstly, the service is the basis of the tourism enterprise, so the study concentrates on the measures which promote the service level in CTS. Secondly, the enterprise management style of Chen Guangfu was a creative spirit that achieved the development of travel agencies with no impact on enterprise fundamental premise of innovation. Thirdly, the enterprise considered the staff as the host, that is, the enterprise made the staffs individual value realization and enterprise development to be a unified through the fruitful humanistic management. Fourthly, the enterprise attached importance to the Marketing that improved the Brand awareness on CTS in various methods. Finally, the thesis discusses how to make the enterprise development in utilizing the market insight and political means by Chen Guangfu. The third part will make an objective and historical evaluation about CTS. CTS not only accelerate the modernization of Chinese tourism enterprise and promote the process of China's tourism theory early research of modern China, but also has a lot valuable importance in tourist enterprises management.Owing to the unrest political and economic environment in the Republican Period, CTS had popular with financial problems. However, Chen Guangfu, with his public spirit and the strong financial strength form Shanghai Bank, CTS had a healthy operation. From which, we saw a national entrepreneur's patriotism.
