This paper adopted system integrated innovative approach, used computer visualtechnology, remote control technology, information transmission technology, databasetechnology, network technology to establish crop digital image acquisition subsystem, cropdigital image remote control sub-system, crop digital image remote transmission system, cropdigital image remote management subsystem, and on this basis, crop digital image remotereal-time acquisition system was created, meanwhile it could provide an Internet networkbased digital image information platform for crop growth. As a result, Crop remote real-timedigital image acquisition, storage, management, sharing were all achieved. Conclusionsincluding:(1) The general requirements of crop digital images remote real-time acquisition: systemshould have a wide range of adaptability, users only need to replace a few hardware or resetrelated software,the diagnosis of crop moisture, nitrogen nutrition diagnosis, identification ofcrops, weed identification, pest and other feature extraction applications in different occasionscan all be satisfied conveniently.(2) Compared with other image acquisition devices, HD network camera can actualizeremote access easily; it is more suitable to be the image acquisition device for this system.Comprehensive installation of rail and tripod head will obtain more points of imageacquisition. Images of different plants and images of leaves in different directions can be alltaken into account.(3)In this research, two rod guides with supporting pieces added were adopted, thefriction way was rolling friction, and transmission mode was timing Belt driving linearmotion system. This system had low cost and small friction, turning and large torques were allavoided.(4) Crop image acquisition equipment vertical movement control system adopts screwplus four bar mechanism, has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, small frictionalforce, system stability, self-locking performance; crop image acquisition equipment spacerotation motion using PTZ control, the rotating angle of0degrees to360degrees.(5)To meet the video transmission requirements, crop digital image remote real-timeacquisition system should select Internet networks with a bandwidth more than4Mbps, and H.264video compression technology, RTP network transmission protocol for video imagetransmission, TCP protocol to transmit the captured image.(6)It is appropriate for crop digital image remote real-time acquisition system to use C/S mode to achieve information sharing and remote management. Can upload, download,query and call the image.(7)After testing the LAN, the tests show that the crop remote real-time digital imageacquisition system constructed by the crop digital image acquisition devices, remote controlsystems, information transmission system, remote management system, can achieve thedesired functionality, the received crop picture consistent application requirements.In this paper, problems in computer vision technology based crop growth monitoringprocess were studied; some significative explorations in crop remote real-time digital imageacquisition field were done to lay foundation for the future development of information-basedcrop growth diagnostic decision support system...
