| Telecom operators are currently committed to the construction of the3G or4Gmobile communication networks. Due to the source of income of these operators isstill rely on the2G network services, therefore, it becomes an important problemthat how to not only ensure the stable operation of the2G network but also to re-duce the cost of it. One of the effective methods to resolve this problem is estimateexactly the status of the current network and to know which cell is in idle state andwhich cell' capacity should be enlarged immediately so that we can get the resourceof the idle one to meet the demand of the urgent one. How to estimate accuratelythe utilization of the wireless resource is an important premise of this method.In fact, there is not yet a mature utilization assessment method aboutGSM/GPRS/EDGE mix networks, so this paper is to research on it. The main means ofthe paper to estimate the radio channel utilization are divided into three parts: thewireless channel utilization assessment of voice services, the wireless channel utiliza-tion assessment of data services and overall wireless channel utilization assessment.As for the wireless channel utilization assessment of voice services, we firstly use theLeast Square Algorithm and Nonlinear Fitting Method to construct a mended ErlBtable, then use this table to calculate the channel utilization of voice services; As forthe wireless channel utilization assessment of data services, we use the occupationratio of data flow on wireless blocks to measure; And as for the assessment of thetotal channel utilization, we firstly take the weighted summation of the voice channelutilization and the data channel utilization as the overall channel utilization, then getthe busy hour value from it as the final measurement index.It is showed by the results that the estimation method in this paper can estimatethe utilization rate of wireless resource effectively and have some guidance value onGSM/GPRS/EDGE network optimization. |
