In recent years, the telecommunication industry has been developing very rapidly in China. The competition for customers among operators has turned out to be very tight, which to a big degree force operators to focus more on rational cost-and-service-oriented competition rather than a simple "price war". By improving wireless channel utilization, network potentials can be dug out, network operation cost can be efficiently reduced, and thus operators' profit can be further improved. In order to save energy and to reduce emission, how to predict voice traffic and data traffic, and then to better allocate carrier frequency has become one of the biggest focuses for operators.This paper is an amendment to the original theoretical ErlB table that is no longer applicable under GSM network environment. Based on professional software and more than one million voice traffic data provided by some Mobile companies, in this paper, the author conducted in-depth research on the relationship among Traffic - congestion probability - Congestion Rate - Wireless utilization. At the same time, the capacity of the voice channel under different half-rate threshold and the law of the best half-rate start point are also analyzed.After amendment, by introducing an actual project- Comprehensive Business Analysis, Forecasting and the Carrier Frequency Allocation System Platform, the paper stated about how to allocate the carrier frequency after the prediction of voice traffic and data traffic, and the important role of amended ErlB table is pointed out, too. Besides, the introduction of the structure and the function of the platform is another important part of this paper.The paper includes the following parts:1. Explained why theoretical ErlB table is not applicable and analyzed the necessity of conducing amended ErlB table research.2. Introduced the researches and applications of amended ErlB table in detail.3. Design and release of the Traffic Analysis System Platform.
