With the development of the global economic and the higher level of citymodernization in the world, the number of motor vehicles is increasingdramatically,accordingly, urban traffic congestion is becoming increasinglyserious. Public transportation,one of the most important infrastructures, amain component of the urban transportation system structure is playing aguiding and overall role in many aspects such as normal operation of city,economic prosperity, social development and the convenience of people's life.This thesis regards the intelligent transportation system theory as thebackground, combining with the main question existing in our country publictransport scheduling of the present stage, with object oriented softwareengineering analysis method as reference, and then the city publictransportation dispatching system is designed and researched, meanwhile, thefleet dispatching desk sub system' implementation is mainly described. Themain content works as follows:(1)Accessing to a large number of literatures,the domestic and foreign development status of the public bus transportationdispatching system and problems in operation were analyzed to determine thesystem requirements.(2) The relative theory that was used in the bus dispatchsystem was studied to get ready for the realization of the system, such aspublic bus transportation dispatching theory, object-oriented softwareengineering theory and Socket programming principle.(3) Based on thesystem requirements analysis, the fleet dispatching desk sub system's functionwas determined, and the sub system's use case diagram was obtained.(4)According to studies the bus dispatching system's overall framework, theoverall design program of the system, design objective, logical framework andphysical framework were determined.(5) Designing the class diagram, thesequence diagram, the state diagram and the activity diagram after analyzingthe system's business process, and the fleet dispatching desk sub system havebeen designed in detail.(6) The system has been implemented using Visual C#language based on.NET platform and tested in laboratory. The software of urban public bus transportation dispatching system hasbeen compiled in visual studio2005, which achieves the expected functionsbasically. The system has many advantages, such as simple operation, easy touse and maintenance. In a certain extent, the service quality of publiccompanies and the intelligent level of public transportation dispatching havebeen improved.
