Published by Bluetooth Special Interest Group, the 4.0 specification of the Bluetooth system makes Bluetooth become a wireless communication with the features of low-power, high-speed data transmission, long transmission distance and high security. With the Bluetooth technology is widely used to smart home, wearables and other Internet of Things related occupations, which make people's life more and more convenient.4. X specification of the Bluetooth system includes traditional Bluetooth technology, high speed Bluetooth technology and low energy Bluetooth technology. Generally, the existing Bluetooth devices on the market are single mode Bluetooth and dual mode Bluetooth. Single mode Bluetooth devices support low power Bluetooth technology, whereas dual mode Bluetooth usually support traditional Bluetooth technology and low energy Bluetooth technology. The synchronization module, packet assembler and packet disassembler of Bluetooth baseband, which process the underlying data, are important parts of the Bluetooth hardware structure.Based on the reviewing of the development history of specification of the Bluetooth system, this thesis mainly studies the main contents of Bluetooth baseband using 4.0 specification of the Bluetooth system as a reference standard, which include: the structure of traditional Bluetooth packet and low energy Bluetooth packet; error correction algorithm; data whitening algorithm; hop selection algorithm; bit synchronization algorithm. The part of baseband which realize by Verilog HDL, includes the Meggitt 2/3FEC decoder module, whitening and de-whitening module, HEC/CRC generation and checking module, SDL sampling module, COR module, bit synchronization module which is a DPLL and traditional Bluetooth hop selection module. Finally, the writer verified the correctness of these modules through Cadence's simulation tool. Because the baseband of Bluetooth SOC chip have a large effect on the performance of the whole Bluetooth communication system, especially, the frequency hopping selection module, the error control related modules and the time synchronization module of baseband is directly related to that Bluetooth devices send or receive packets of Bluetooth devices can send and receive packets accurately. Obviously, it is very necessary to study the key technology of dual mode Bluetooth baseband. These days, with the rapid development of Internet of things industry, the design of the modules of Bluetooth baseband provide a comprehensive solution to the key technology of the Bluetooth baseband.
