Bluetooth is a technology specification for low-cost, short-range radio links between portable devices and any other devices that need to replace their wire connection. Bluetooth system provides voice and data services for both point-to-point and point ?to-multi-point connections. It has a very bright commercial future. It is important to owe the key technology of Bluetooth.The hardware design is important for Bluetooth development. The baseband controller implements the functions of the Lower Link Controller, it is a core aspect of Bluetooth hardware development.Because IP core is reusable, it is important for 1C design, and it also will fast the development of Bluetooth hardware.The thesis briefly introduces the background of the Bluetooth system, describes the details of the Bluetooth hardware blocks, points out the key part and hard part of the hardware design. The thesis introduces the principles and process of IP design, analyzes the architecture of baseband specification, gives out a kind of divided hardware blocks of baseband. A blocks design scheme is also given out.Based on the Bluetooth specification 1. 1, the thesis studies the details of the algorithms of the base band specifications, and designs blocks of error correction, error detection, data whitening, hop selection kernel and Bluetooth security which include encryption and authentication. The details of the blocks design are presented. The simulation shows that the blocks function well of the Bluetooth baseband.At last, the future development of the baseband core is pointed out. The future of Bluetooth application and its development is also discussed.
