With the advancement of cable TV technology in recent years, IP technology, featuring low cost, extensive commonality and friendly usage, has been widely applied to the platform of cable digital TV. In accordance with the synergy and combination in development of cable TV industry, the backbone transmission of IP data has become a striking problem in broadcasting industry.MSTP enjoys a widespread application in long distance backbone and metropolitan area network in telecommucation system as well as the backbone transmission network in broadcasting system. In these diverse networks, IP transmission can be realized with different technologies among which RPR over MSTP has won a lot of attention due to its flexible implication, broadcast-quality transmission, stable support for various IP transmission modes (such as unicast and multicast) and high efficiency in utilizing resources. Specifically, it is gradually employed in backbone transmission in cable digital TV. This paper is based on a provincial project in Hangzhou WASU DTV Co., the backbone transmission of cable digital TV, focusing on the application of RPR over MSTP technology. Detailed researches can be expounded as followed.1. Cable digital TV's backbone transmission based on IP technology constitutes the focus of this paper. We analyzes the digital TV Head End based on IP, and compare several IP transmitting technology on MSTP. The emphasis is laid upon RPR over MSTP with detailed research on the technological structure, protective system, bandwidth allocation algorithm and spatial multiplexing technology, thus summarizing its scope of application and advantages and disadvantages.2. On the detailed study of the project in Hangzhou WASU DTV Co. and specific analysis of test data and operating data, we argue that RPR over MSTP is suitable for cable digital TV's backbone transmission based on IP technology.3. Additionally, we polish some technological gist which includes the planning of industry type, topology design, weighting design, node priority and multicast based on IGMP Snooping. These tips are expected to help integrate RPR into cable digital TV's backbone transmission, thus facilitating the synergy of broadcasting network and providing reference for cable digital TV'S backbone transmission in other cities and areas.4. Concerning the application of RPR over MSTP, we also conduct comparative study between Trialing of NGB testbed on "863"Program and municipal network. We brief on the utilization of this technology in Cable TV'S Access Network and state that this technology can be applied at various levels . |
