Automatic Storage & Retrieval System (AS/RS) integrates automatic control, computer network management and mechanical design, etc. It can independently complete warehouse operation tasks, and scientifically manage warehouse information. High-rise shelves, computer management system and automatic equipments are key points of AS/RS technology, in which automatic equipments are precondition for high efficiency and hot topic on research. On the basis of AS/RS research, this project realizes optimal design for working performance and scheduling management for stacker cranes (one kind of automatic equipments), which has much practical value.This project analyzes AS/RS structure and characteristics, expounds key technologies and present study situation, and summarizes its widespread applied fields and advantages, such as high space utilization, high productivity, scientific management, low cost, reliable and timely warehouse information, and so on.Stacker cranes'performance optimizations are designed in this project, including starting, processing, assignments sequence and running path, based on the analysis of AS/RS framework and stacker cranes'features. Results show that, these optimization schemes fulfill actual demands and partly improve operation efficiency for AS/RS.
