Background for the topic of this paper is " a factory of Anshan Iron and Steel Company newly built active lime rotary kiln project" ,according to the technological process and technical requirements of rotary kiln,expounds the whole design of the automatic control system scheme and process in details. For the temperature control system has the complex working conditions, changing parameters, operation of large inertia,control lag,etc. It needs higher quality temperature controller. The production process of rotary kiln is a complicated physical chemistry course of reaction and has the characteristics of big inertia, pure time-delay and nonlinearity.According to these characteristics, the traditional PID control is difficult to implement the control precision of furnace temperature, and regulation PID parameters is very difficult, it is hard to adjust to the best PID parameters. Aiming at the scene of the actual situation, this paper introduces a design algorithm, it can realize PID parameters automatic optimization of fuzzy control algorithm for the fuzzy PID parameter self-setting, this kind of fuzzy control algorithm combined the advantages ,the accuracy of the PID control algorithm and the strong robustness of the conventional fuzzy control algorithm, so the system not only has quicker response speed and strong robustness, but also can achieve the precise control. Making the fuzzy lookup table by off-line,then,using the fuzzy lookup table, to realize PID parameters auto-tuning.Through this kind of method, according to the actual situation,during the operation the system can automatically regulate the PID parameters, realize the PID parameters optimization. The Actual operating conditions of the factory in Anshan Iron and Steel Company rotary kiln , indicates that the running effect of control system is good,and can quickly realize PID parameters tuning, small temperature overshoot,short heating time, high-precision control, good temperature uniformity, high thermal efficiency. Also pointed out that the key link of the control technology,is the determination of the fuzzy control rule.
