As one of the most important equipments, main fans in coal mines are the most efficient way to prevent gas from congregating and exploding. The online monitoring and control system of main fans detects ventilation equipment and power supply equipment real-time. The online monitoring and control system is significant to ensure the main fans work safely, and improve the management level.This article described the energy situation of our country and the necessity of energy saving, introduced the application of Converter Technique in mine mechanical and electrical equipment especially in adjusting speed of main fans, and researched on the online monitoring system based on Converter Technique for main fans, which is combined with the online monitoring projects of main fans in Huang Yuchuan mine.Through studying on the characteristics of fans, the comprehensive Performance Characteristic of fan and Ventilation System have been mastered. A subject about solving frequency harmonic influence on online monitoring data's acquisition is been raised by research on present situation in development of online monitoring. The Math Models of Air volume and air pressure of online monitoring system have been got through mathematical derivation.Through studying on frequency control technique, the law of frequency harmonic has been mastered, the reason that frequency harmonic influence on online monitoring data's acquisition has been found. Compared with the means of dealing with frequency harmonic, a new means of direct filter has been proposed. And it solved the interference of frequency harmonic well.A system based on programmable logic controller has been designed by studying the automation system and the real situation of fan online monitor. The sensor, transducer, PLC model and computer have been designed or selected.This project completed the configuration of PLC and software, programmed the control programs and data acquisition programs by STEP 7,and designed the human-machine interface by MCGS. The software has the ability of showing parameters, printing, storage, fault alarming by intelligent analysis, uploading data by PLC communication model.This project development a online monitor system of main fan, and it has been used in Huang Yuchuan mine. This system works well, the data acquisitioned by it is reliable and it improves the safety level of main fan and the coal mine automation management level.
