As the world oil and gas industry's rapid development, pipeline has been become essential equipment to transport oil and natural gas. However, no matter what the pipeline is buried by the underground or deep sea, it will be subjected to internal, external pressure, itself gravity and the corrosion of soil, water, air, which lead to various erodent and defects to pipelines and not perfect. It will bring security hidden trouble for oil transport, lead to environmental pollution, waste resource and harm to people's life, if pipeline was eroded and nobody find out it early. Therefore, it is important to detect and maintain pipeline for the period. For the long-term, pipeline magnetic flux leakage inspection of pipeline to the environmental requirements is not high, do not require coupling agent, wide application range, low prices and other advantages, which has become the most widely used in pipeline detection applications, the most mature technology detection means. For pipeline detection data analyze and get the pipeline of internal defects and weld characteristic information for pipeline repair condition, but also ensure the safety of the pipeline is an important work to use.This essay will focus on the long distance pipeline magnetic flux leakage inspection data, which based on image visualization method for defects of pipe wall and weld feature detection problems of visual image display. First of all, it is necessary to analysis pipeline magnetic flux leakage characteristics of data, The detected data is processed into the screen, to generate a series of magnetic flux leakage curve graph. and detection of the mass of the MFL data is processed into a corresponding gray scale value, then, by gray value generating grayscale image; Next, using interpolation, filtering, sharpening and other image enhancement methods for image processing, and get clear image, the image shows a tube wall the defect and the weld; finally, generating gray image after density segmentation into pseudo color image to enhance the visual effect of pipeline defect. And the use of Matlab visualization interface achieves pipeline magnetic flux leakage detection data corresponding to pipe features automatically and display. Through analyzing a large amount of pipeline magnetic flux leakage data, achieving curve image and pipeline gray image display and pseudo color display, which can identify oil and gas pipeline welding and defect, help professionals to analyze data, at the same time, improve the analysis efficiency and quality and reduce in the analysis that factors error.
