Communications Projects are often large investment,complicated technology with long period. The progress and the plans of Communications Construction are very important for the Communications operators. How to plan and organize the constructions and find the problem timely is not easy for the project managers.In order to solve the problems of planning and progress controlling systematically and comprehensively during the communication project, This paper introduces the project management methodology in the Communication Projects of 18th in Yunnan Unicom, Summarizing the application of communication projects planning and controlling. Combine the processes of the traditional communications projects in YunnanUnicom, Analysis and discussion of first Yunnan Unicom in recent years, the scale of users and network the current situation as well as user development, Introduced the Communication Projects of 18th in Yunnan Unicom, scheduling and planning the project, Reference to the WBS, Gantt charts, network planning map tools to guide thepreparation and implementation of the project plan. Then analysis the time schedule of the project with Critical Path Method so that the whole progress of the project advancing to become more systematic and Increase the controllability of the project. According to the time-cost balance method and Parallel cross duration optimization method, practical problems in the current project are solved.Through the study of this topic, Schedule for addressing the communication construction process control, communication project management level and duration of optimization, there aregood practical significance.
