With the development of embedded technology and wireless communication technology, the water level monitoring system using wireless technology is becoming the trend. The merits and drawbacks of several mainstream wireless transmission technique was introduced in this paper. The basic theories and methods related to the object were also discussed. Based on the AX5051 and Amage88, a wireless water level monitoring system was designed and realized.During the design procedure, the system is divided into three major modules according to the functional structure, namely water-level acquisition module, wireless communication module and monitoring module. Water-level acquisition module completes the data acquisition. Wireless communication module is made up of AX5051 chip, which mainly realizes wireless data transmission. The monitoring module composed of AVR MCU and AX5051.The hardware was implemented. In the aspect of software design, the thought and process of modularized design are described which include the design of the main program,subprogram, the subprogram of the wireless communication module and the flow diagram are also given. The test on the functions of the whole system is carried out. Based on all of the summary and conclusions of my research work, some suggestions and prospect for further researching is put forward in the end.This system has many advantages such as low power, high reliability, easy installation, which greatly enhance the economic benefits.
