Design And Development Of Blueprints Management System For Engineering And Research Institute

Shengyang Aluminium and Magnesium Engineering and Research Institute founded in March,1951, which was one of the earliest institutes in our country. All along, the job of managing the blueprints is all by hands. We bought a new software in order to manage the process in 2000. It based on single PC and operated by the staff of Recording Department, and it's function was not satisfied. In 2008, we built a new office building and constructed our own intranet and replaced all the old computers with advanced new PCs. So, the old software can not meet our needs any more,we need software more advanced and effective.The new system bases on the B/S network frame and takes great advantage of the new intranet. It follows the standard framework of J2EE on technology, ensure Cross-platform of the system, the horizontal and vertical expansibility of operational level and the reusability of software. And it runs on the Windows 2000 server system and links the SQL server 2000 database to store the information, so the foundation is safe and solid.The paper began from the requirement analysis and deeply touch the working process of the Institute. And basing on the preparation, we built five functional modules to integrate the whole system, they were system configuration,roles management,borrowing management,data input and blueprints query. We show the process of design, programming,running and testing, used JDBC to link the database and so on.
