In 21st century, the globe has entered the knowledge economy era characterized with informatization, networking as well as digitalization. A brand-new concept is put forward under the background of knowledge economy---namely, knowledge service, which generally means that knowledge stems from information and is the result of information sublime. As a result, knowledge service doesn't belong to general information service but a kind of pilot study for research and service which develops in a further level and makes use of information resource. Therefore, knowledge service is of great significance for the transmission, transformation and innovation of knowledge. As a new type of organization form for entity archives in knowledge economy, the appearance of digital archives is the necessity of constant innovation and development and the key to meet the challenge of knowledge economic era, enlarge the functions of traditional entity archives, satisfy the customers'need and provide diversified and individualized service. Meanwhile, it is also a good opportunity to enhance the awareness of the entire social archives. However, how to extract and excavate the valuable knowledge from the tremendous amount of digital information is critical to solve the archive user's actual problems as well as being one of the subjects that shall be confronted in the construction of digital archives and the utilization of service in the future. In this sense, it is of great research significance to carry out knowledge service for digital archives with the objective of eliminating theoretical obstacles, exploring directions for breakthrough as well as providing guidance for practices.In the process of thesis writing, consult extensively the relevant research results at home and abroad by adopting literature survey method, network literature document retrieval, aim to master the research trends of digital archives knowledge service, expand academic vision, explore the research defects, make supplement when writing thesis and then borrow ideas from the valuable research so as to make appropriate innovation on a reasonably-analyzed basis. The paper is divided into three parts:PartⅠ(Chapter 1):By making use of diversified data of network resources and abundant holdings in the library, make a detailed review on the research status quo at home and abroad of knowledge service in the field of archives, which lays solid foundation for creation of papers;PartⅡ(Chapter 2,3):To introduce the relevant theories of archival science, conclude the definitions of digital archives in recent years from different angles and reveal the implication and characteristics of knowledge service for digital archives by making analysis on the difference and relationship among the relevant concepts of knowledge service;PartⅢ(Chapter4,5):To create four applicable modes of knowledge service, i.e., user self-help service mode, cooperative reference work service mode, expert and team service mode and individualized service mode. On the basis of the above mentioned methods, propose assessment index system mode for digital archives knowledge service modes and make quantitative analysis and conclude each characteristic by adopting fuzzy comprehensive assessment methods, thereby providing difference choices and reference for the digital archives to implement knowledge service.
