With the rapid increase of China's automobile quantities, the urban environment is getting worse. And with the exhausting of oil resource, it's a inevitable choice to develope new energy vehicles. And due to its low pollution, low noise, electricity renewable, etc, the electric car become the hot spot of the research and development in many countries in recent years. In the future, the electric car will be driven on the highway in all over the world. The electric car mainly includes three core technology:motor technology, vehicle electronic and the control technology, battery and power management system. There is not uniform standard in power management system. The different of the battery increase the difficulty of system development. This paper introduces the electric power management system research and development the present situation at home and abroad. At the conclusion of the predecessor's research, based on the battery of lithium iron phosphate used in the system, the paper puts forward a set of corresponding power management system. This paper introduces the function of the system including:The battery voltage acquisition, current collection, temperature gathering, the vehicle CAN network construction and battery Soc estimate algorithm. The system function also records the running log and the alarming of abnormalities, etc. This paper introduces the hardware design based on the R32C157, such as MC9S08DZ16 embedded microcontroller. It also introduces the realization of the CAN bus communication. This paper also introduces software system realization, and a variety of bus interface technology. Finally, this paper proposes to improve method for the shortcomings of this system, and points out what we will do in the next time.
