With the continuous development of lead-acid battery, in order to ensure good battery performance and extend battery life, we need to carry on the effective real-time monitoring to the battery, to ensure that all kinds of equipment under normal, safe and reliable operation. We mostly adopt RS-232, RS-485 and CAN bus communication modes for networking to field devices in battery monitoring system, but the scene monitoring equipment is generally isolated from Internet. With the popularization and application of embedded system, using the embedded technology to solve the problem of network is becoming more and more attention, and a large number of monitoring equipment, such as data acquisition, display device and process control are all facing urgent demand for networking in some industrial control field.Through the study of battery monitoring system and embedded gateway development status at home and abroad, combining the latest development of fieldbus and Ethernet technology, we design battery remote monitoring system based on Embedded Gateway. Firstly designing the overall framework of the whole system and demonstrating its feasibility, mainly introducing the design of smart battery, including the acquisition of battery voltage, current, resistance and temperature signals, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of wireless communication, serial communication and fieldbus, we choose CAN bus as the communication mode of this paper, and designing CAN communication module.Then designing embedded gateway, including the design of main controller module, CAN bus interface module and Ethernet interface module; and introducing the migration process of Linux operating system in detail, thus to complete the design of hardware and software of Embedded Gateway. The designed Embedded Gateway could be able to complete the conversion between CAN bus and Ethernet network, taking the scene monitoring equipment connect to Internet, so as to realize remote monitoring and management of the battery.Designing battery database based on SQL Server database, it can storage battery monitoring data and users can access the database to query the historical monitoring records. Then completing the implementation of embedded Web server, and realizing the dynamic Web page through CGI application program. Finally, testing the battery remote monitoring system based on Embedded Gateway, and analyzing the test results.
