Nowadays, new information technology represented by computer and Internet is used more and more widely in every social field, it becomes an indispensable part of human life and production. But as well as it improves the efficiency and provides lots of convenience to people, it could result in new problem-information alienation. Despite the fact that macroscopical environment and information environment are the important factors which led to information alienation, the psychological factors of modern people are the flashpoint for information alienation. Based on the summaries of the essence, origin and historical necessity of information alienation, this paper discussed the five main causes of information alienation, which were information anxiety, information dependency, information pollution, information narrowing, and network violence with the theory of the psychoanalysis of Freud, trait theory of personality, learning theory of personality, need hierarchy theory of Maslow, structural theory of responsibility psychology of Auhagen, cognitive psychology theory, conformist mentality theory of Asch, group polarization, and deindividualization theory in modern psychological terms, and put forward the control strategy of five forms to information alienation in the environment of information networks.
