Research On Information Alienation And Control Strategies In Modern Library Services

Due to various interferences and the uneven development of inside and outside library system, library and the readers lost of subjectivity in front of information, and information in turn become the dominant and the alien force of library and the readers. There are many problems in information alienations, such as information gap, information overload, information injustice, anxiety and information security threats. All of these bring much harm to modern library. Information alienation not only destroy the library information environment, reduce the efficiency of library service, but also cause many information diseases, lead to the user unable to obtain the required information. The article relates information alienation theory and library practice, based on the conception of the information alienation, to define a new information alienation conception of modern library services. And the same time, to summarize the manifestations of information alienation in library service. Then, the article analyses the causes of the information alienation from the external environment and internal management. Finally, put forward strategies to control information alienation from the following four aspects: the system, service, technology, librarian quality.
