The Research And Application Of Smart Client

There are mainly two kinds of application model of traditional Client. One is the Rich Client as a representative of C/S, the other is the Thin Client as a representative of B/S. The former is originally applied to LAN, and it is easy to develop and use, but it is overelaborate to install, deploy and maintain. The latter is originally running in the internet.The deployments, upgrades and maintenances can take place on the server side, but the development mode is more complex, the user interface is relatively dull and unfriendly, and the operation is only to be online. As a new model of development, Smart Client solved outstanding problems which consist in the simple model of C/S and B/S,So Smart Client can provide user a system to use and smart upgrade on line and off-line.The main works for Smart Client have been done in this paper as followings:First, this paper describes the characteristics and types of Smart Client, reviews the advantages and disadvantages of traditional Client, and focus on the smart client features, such as the use of local resources, the use of network resources, supported by the user of occasionally connected, smart deploying and automatically updating.Secondly, in order to achieve function of Seamless Handover for Smart Client online or offline, this Paper puts forward a general storage scheme of Smart Client, and provides the Design and Implementation of working flow for process, accessing data from the network, and accessing the local data. Finally, this Paper developed the System of University Teaching Management based on Smart Client. This System is mainly adapted to realize a series of functions such as storaging information, administering the education of calendar, arranging teaching schedule and entering the education of calendar .By the testing of system, the results proved the feasibility and applications of the storage scheme of Smart Client. Today, as Smart Client becomes the hotspot of Computer Networking Applied Framework research realm, it points out some new ways which make the application more concise, efficient and intelligent.
