The Application Of Using Personas In The Design And Realization Of Realtime Assets Management System

Over the past ten years, information technology has been developing rapidly. Most ofcompanies have implemented relevant information systems in enterprise running process.Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system is an important part of them. But even withEAM, many companies are still suffering problems in the process of fixed assets management.Such as the entries of fixed assets not complying with the physical recognized assets, manyexisting difficulties in the inventory process for fixed assets, and even being unable to servesome departments which need to depend on them. This is more so in middle and largeenterprises.With the survey of14middle and large enterprises, it turns out that it is the inefficientprocess for fixed assets management that caused those problems. With the processes, the dataof fixed assets cannot be input into the system instantly. And the further reason is the currentfixed assets management systems don't support more efficient processes. So the only way toimprove this situation is to use more powerful systems. In order to explicitly collect anddescribe customer's requirements, in this paper, I use the well-known persons as theinteraction design tool to design and develop the creative fixed assets management system.In this paper, it introduces the conception and methodology of Persons, and thenmakes a survey within14middle and large companies. With the survey and intense analysis,it comes out the root causes that lead to the problems in fixed assets management the currentfixed assets system are not able to support more efficient process. New creative managementphilosophy, the REAL-TIME Management, is suggested in this paper and it helps optimizethe process in management process. To develop the more convenient system,3personas and4scenarios are created and that make it possible for developing the efficient and effective fixedasset management system The REAL-TIME Fixed Assets Management System. The REAL-TIME Fixed Assets Management System is based on ASP.NET4.0andMicrosoft Visual Web Developer2010(VWD). Using Microsoft SQL Server2008as thedatabase system and running on64-bit hardware platform enable it to gain wonderfulperformance. With the trial in3companies, it is proved to resolve most problems in fixedassets management process for companies.
