Research About The Method Of Software Development Indirect Cost Estimation

With the continuous advancement of the software industry, software developmentment cost estimation has become an important part of the software engineering field. And a variety of cost estimation approach is playing an important role in their applicable areas.This paper studies the common basic models of software cost estimation, and briefly analysis the various models of the measurement principle and the disquisition object . The results show that these models mainly take the direct cost of software development as the research object, but there are no estimation methods and estimation models about indirect costs of software development. But actually this situation is not consistent with China's software industry. In order to improve the level of software cost estimation, combining with the method of the eight cost of the military products, we bring forward the method of software development indirect cost estimates in which the combination of cost-plus and model method.In allusion to the civilian and military software development problems in cost estimation, we emphasize finding the estimation standards and regulatory documents about the country's national and the army. According to the theory and methods in price theory, we bring forward the software pricing principles to guide the work of the software cost estimation. Also we analysis the common software cost estimation methods and software development cost estimates based on the combination of cost-plus and model method, and as well, analysis the importance and necessity of the indirect cost in software development indirect cost, and introduce the cost included in the indirect cost one by one, and form the estimation methods and principles of the cost, and form a method of software indirect cost estimation, to improve the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the estimation.Finally in this paper we use a large software system as an example to validate the indirect cost estimation methods. In this process, we estimate the component cost of indirect cost in a subsystem, and compare it with the corresponding data of the instances. The experimental results also show that this method of cost estimation of software development in the indirect cost of the software exploitation plays an active role.
