Under the background of rapidly development of Internet of Things, RFID (Radio frequency identification) technology is becoming the focus of the research and it has been applied into many industries. In China the application of RFID mainly concentrates in the supply chain and electronic ticket market, while manufacturing application shares a very small market. Internationally, however, RFID is now entering into the core process of manufacturing. Take the tobacco industry as a research object, this paper design a RFID demo platform for tobacco manufacturing. At the beginning, RFID's principle and application situation at home or abroad are intro-duced. From the points of view that promote the application of RFID in the manufacturing, combined with practice experience, the study content and necessity of this paper are proposed.Secondly, after analyzing the existing problems within the manufacturing industry, the application pattern of RFID in manufacturing is finally put forward. That is, acquire various production data in real time and then make these data as the source of enterprise information. In addition, the current problems in the RFID applications are pointed out.Again, on the base of analyzing the status of tobacco manufacturing, some RFID solutions are proposed. Then a RFID demonstration platform for tobacco manufacturing is built to run these solutions. The overall structure of the demo platform and software system are introduced at last. Finally, the implementation process of each simulation program is presented, including the program running on the fixed RFID reader (anti-mixed, packaging process monitoring, batch in-out warehouse) and on the handled reader (anti-fake, mobile storage). At the same time the EPC C1-G2 standard protocols are well analyzed. A mobile database is used to cache RFID data for hand-held devices development and the RDA (remote data access) method is used to make the synchronization between the client and remote database possible.
