In order to improve the visibility and controllability of the manufacturing process, an advanced and efficacious method, based on the RFID technology, is proposed in this thesis for the manufacturing execution management of job-shop. A prototype system is also developed based on the proposed method. The key needs of automation and information in job-shop production management is analyzed and a new idea of applying RFID technology is given out in this thesis to deal with the manufacturing execution process management problems. To address the problem of the low reliability and inefficient and the poor feasibility of traditional production execution management system, the approach pay more attention on the RFID-based manufacturing process data collection and processing problem, as well as the closed-loop production scheduling and control strategy, and gives an effective solution to the concern issues.A prototype system for job-shop based on RFID technology is designed, as the global framework and the functional models of the system are designed. The system contains several modules, such as data collection, production scheduling, job-shop status monitoring and et.al, which make it very ease for mangers of the enterprise to collect manufacturing process data, to understand the actual situation of the shop floor, and to further control the production process. At the end, a prototype system is developed based on the research on the holistic and practical models, with the Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 platform, using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 as a database system. The implementation of some main functions of the system are described in detail and some running cases in a certain machining shop floor environment are shown to demonstrate effectiveness of the method.
