Usability Research On Small Touch Screen Terminal User Interface

Small touch screen User Interface design is a creative activity based on touch screen terminal User Interface. It's the result of combining the two computer science and cognitive psychology. It can enable users work and live more comfortable and efficient.This paper analyzes the core problem of small touch screen terminal User Interface design. It explains the meaning of small touch screen terminal and User Interface firstly then explains the meaning of the small touch screen terminal User Interface design by images and examples. It analyzes the different of the normal User Interface and terminal User Interface in order to finding the characters and the problems of the small touch screen terminal User Interface design. It pointed compared with the common interface, the small touch screen terminal User Interface's interactive method is not only the visual, tactile but also accounted for a large share. How to coordinate the relationship between the two, that this is an issue to be discussed.Then, starting form the usability, it introduced theories on User Interface design and extends them on small touch screen terminal User Interface design. This paper consider from the psychological and physical level. The former need to consider human cognitive psychology and user habits; and the latter need to be consider the elements and elements'arrangement of the User Interface design.Common User Interface and small touch screen terminal User Interface have same points and also have differences. Some common User Interface design methods and principles also apply to small touch screen terminal User Interface, but the small touch screen terminal User Interface has its particularity. Through the examples given, negative contrast and combining with some previous research results, the author believes that in small touch screen terminal design, considerations based on cognitive psychology, design note: topic accuracy, easy operation, technology rationality and outstanding personality; considerations based on cognitive, design note: ergonomics need to meet compliance, information streamlined, accessible using the best combination of a variety of media; considerations based on the design elements, the audio-visual elements and layout should be attention.Finally, analyze the results of the relevant factors; use small touch screen mobile User Interface design as an example to design using the methods and principles above mentioned. Then do usability testing by combining Likert scale to verify the conclusions.
