Recently,the major emergency has always been an important branch in the study of journalism, as well as the object highly focused by media. It is of great value both in news and social aspects once it occurs for unexpected events' uncertainty, destruction, big influence, etc. Media, an important source of information in daily life, have been playing an important role in the development of society. The frequent occurrence of major emergencies has an impact on society, but also brings new issues to the study in media.However, with lack in the practice in emergency report and the trail in theory building,we haven't form a scientific and specifical report system, to cause dislocation, inauthenticity, lag, inadequacy and other information pollution where gossip or rumors will result in social panic and destroy credibility of media. Therefore, there is urgent need to establish a reasonable media identity for emergency events.In this paper, identity is used as an analytical tool to analyze information pollution problem in emergency report, discuss about the boundary of the media identity, and define the identity of mass media in the response of emergency events, namely, the platform of information spread and communication, the media of grassroots, the media of the state. This paper is of great theoretical significance and practical value for the establishment and improvement of emergency news reports mechanism, as well as strategy of theoretical analysis and application.
