With the development of society, pressure vessels are more and more widely used in the production and everyday life, it is the safety of pressure vessels are also more and more attention. Pressure vessel leakage losses is enormous, how to detect the source of the leak and the leak location quickly, has become an important topic for researchers and direction.With the rapid development of petrochemical industry, the leakage detection of pressure vessels has become the technical problems of petrochemical industry.In this paper, under the support of national high technology research and development program 863 Project-dangerous chemical reactor leak detection and repair of mobile manipulator system (item number: 2003AA421040), it mainly research on sound source localization. The main contents of this paper is as follows:First, the principle of sound leakage process are discussed, the leakage of pressure vessel, especially a gas leakage is a spray process, it will produce jet noise, and it can detect the occurrence of leakage and location source by acoustic method, which is generating ultrasonic.Second, based on in-depth comparison of various positioning methods and location algorithm, it determines location algorithm to detect leakage, and deduce the formula.Finally, use the LabVIEW virtual instrument software, built a simple experimental platform, the positioning algorithm is verified by experiments.
