The pipeline transportation runs neck and neck with the railway, the highway, the aviation, the water transportation. As one of the five major transport means, it has the special advantage in the transport of liquids, gases, slurry and so on. The question that the city underground tap water pipelines leak is still a serious problem in many companies of supplying water and rich and influential families of water so far. The pipeline leak has not only wasted massive water resources, but also caused the very considerable economic losses. The accumulated water areas caused by water leakage have destroyed the building foundation and had effects on people's life and industrial water. And the environmental pollution caused by the leakage is considered to be more serious than the direct economic losses caused by the pipeline leak in the world.At present in our country, we mainly use the traditional passive detecting method and listening method to detect the underground pipeline leak, and all these methods have some limitations. In other countries, the method which uses signal correlation analysis technology to detect pipeline leak has been developing rapidly.
