For mine operations, coal mine fan is the most basic aspects of the production part, it can supply coal face amount of fresh air and dilute and discharge of toxic asphyxiating and explosive gases, dust, etc. in the mine driving face, to ensure the quality and quantity of air in line with national safety and health standards and provide good and safe working environment to protect the mine workers health and safety. Therefore, the fan is very important for the mine safety during construction and production. Now most power for the mine fan is supplied by more current, in order to prevent underground power supply system from a sudden electric power cut and the stoppage of ventilation fan because of power failure, to prevent the gas density gauge beyond limitation, to prevent coal mine gas accident, it is critical to equip a local backup power system for the fan, which can provide continuous, high quality, reliable and stable local AC power.Combined with the current research status, analysis of the current uninterruptible power supply for mine fans, and based on the composition and principle of the uninterruptible power system, firstly, this paper proposed overall design of the emergency power supply plan, which is divided into four parts: the rectifier, charger program, inverter program, energy storage program, according to different functions. Secondly, it introduces the hardware design of the power system (including component selection and circuit structures) and software design, and finally introduced the simulation experiments, whose study is a set of batteries. Experiments have shown that the system could achieve the basic functions of the uninterruptible power system by using the programmable logic controller (PLC), these functions are: when electricity is normal, the rectified DC is inverted by inverter and supplied to the mine fan; when electricity is failure, the control circuit will switch the batteries to provide power for the inverter; when energy storage of batteries is low, the system could supply them with a smooth and reliable charging.
